Sad Beautiful Tragic is a song that I wrote while I was on tour and I was on a tour bus that was moving. And I just started playing this really haunting, sad chorus and just like kind of was very simple like..."what a sad beautiful tragic love affair..." And it was just reflecting on something that was lost, you know, and you can't get it back. And...I went home and I called Nathan Chapman and said: Hey, I wrote a song, please please please can we record it today?" , and of course he said yes. Sad Beautiful Tragic是我巡迴期間在巡迴巴士上寫的歌曲，當時我只是播了一段副歌，簡單又洗腦，還帶點悲傷，例如：what a sad beautiful tragic love affair...，感覺就像是...你對這段已經逝去，無法回頭的感情，所做的回顧與反省。到家後，我立馬聯絡Nathan Chapman："嘿，我剛寫好一首歌，可不可以今天就來錄？ 拜託啦！" ，當然，他答應了...而且說實話，這demo相當完美，沒有後製的必要，所以這首歌是我們以demo錄製完成，然後直接放進去專輯中。--------泰勒談到Sad Beautiful Tragic的創作過程(節錄自Red track-by-track)
這首歌我們可以聽到烏克麗麗的伴奏(因為當初就是一邊抱著烏克麗麗一邊寫出來的)
整體聽下來有點平淡，或許是為了襯托比較悲傷的歌詞吧
在Red巡迴場中，這首也是比較不受到關愛的歌曲之一
理由或許跟1989時的Wonderland類似。

我猜想，或許這首才是真正給Jake的，All Too Well是另一個跟他同時出現在泰勒身邊的人。

*有時候自己翻的中文部分，會比原文歌詞還長很多，這是因為，我希望自己把歌詞中的情感盡量表達出來
*這樣的意境，讓我想到泰勒曾把自己的愛情，比做以悲劇收場的羅密歐與茱麗葉
(儘管她在高中時，曾對此很嗤之以鼻)
這或許是她自身的多愁善感、悲劇愛好所導致。
