"I Almost Do" is a song I wrote about the conflict that you feel when you want to take someone back and you want to give it another try, but you know you can't . And you can't because it hurt you so...so deeply that you know you couldn't bear to go through that again, so you're sitting there and you're wondering where they are and you hope they think about you, and you're almost picking up the phone to call them but you just...you can't. So it's an emotion that I think I need to write the song in order to not to call that person actually. 對於這首歌，當初沒甚麼感覺(對這是實話，那是在2012年聽的時候)
(雖然這首是本專輯中少數鄉村味道濃的歌曲)
但4年後，我漸漸能夠意會這張專輯及1989當中，泰勒所要表達的情感
也讓我對Red的評價由壞轉好(變心變得快的概念)
創作深度與Speak Now有過之無不及、曲風兼容多樣及實驗突破性
字字句句敘事性強又富含情感，加上充滿冰冷色調的樂器伴奏及合成器，雖然跟專輯名稱相衝突
但互相撞擊出的結果，卻是美麗的。
有關I Almost Do的創作背景，泰勒已經在track-by-track說過，我就不再贅述
但不免俗地，又要談到歌曲所指的是哪位人物...
雖然創作者對此沒明確表示是寫誰
但泰勒在其中提及不只一次的pick up the phone....
我們可以推測這首歌跟We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together有前後關係
先前泰勒也有說過，All Too Well之後她就寫了We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together，並稱都是寫給Jake
*假設一下：對上一段感情的All Too Well，所以想要挽回，但是I Almost Do，幾經掙扎之後...
終於直接說出We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together！ 是不是就能稍微串連起來了呢？
但是，既然"PR男友"Jake對All Too Well並不知情，就能撇除這三首歌跟他的關聯(哪些歌寫給自己，當事人看歌詞應該會很有感覺吧)
那這三首歌寫的極有可能是當時泰勒需要Jake去"cover"的對象...
